Norman A. Stucker, P. E.
General Manager, PADT – Colorado

In 2010 Norman opened the Colorado office of PADT, an Arizona based mechanical engineering company that specializes in advanced simulation, additive manufacturing and product development. The founders of PADT are all aerospace engineers and this sector continues to make up a significant part of the company’s client base, some of their Colorado clients in this sector include Lockheed Martin, Sierra Nevada, United Launch Alliance, Air Methods, and others. Medical product device companies are also a large user of PADT’s tools including Covidien, Synthes, Medtronic’s, Baxa and others. In 2011 Norman attempted to relocate his client Rocket Crafters Inc from Utah to Colorado in coordination with the Governor’s office, the Metro Denver Economic Development office and the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce. During this process the idea of a spaceport at Front Range Airport was initially conceived in PADT’s Colorado office.

Prior to joining PADT, Norman founded Courageux Development, a real estate development company he started to take advantage of his extensive experience in the development of commercial real estate projects and complicated infrastructure improvements. In the past five years, Courageux has worked on several public/private projects including a mixed-use 350 Ac land resort development in Salida Colorado and an urban infill project in Golden Colorado. The Salida project included a new public golf course, up to 1,000 residential units; multiple hotels; significant commercial properties and was awarded to Courageux through a public competition. Additionally, Courageux has assisted the owner of a complicated industrial redevelopment in Colorado that required considerable infrastructure work and community outreach.

Before Courageux, Norman was an executive for CMC Group; a Colorado based industrial developer and contractor. As Senior Vice President for Development Norman was partially responsible for the growth of a firm that quadrupled in size during his tenure. While at CMC, Norman oversaw the development of the Hilltop Business Park that was awarded NAIOP’s Industrial Development of the year for 2005. Before joining CMC Group, Norman spent four years as Senior Vice President for Design and Construction Consulting Services with the Staubach Company in Denver and was named a “Top Achiever” three out of four years.

Norman began his career as a civil and structural engineer where he worked for multiple firms in Canada, Texas and Colorado and completed numerous commercial and industrial land developments. In the early 1990’s he served as the President of the Colorado Society of Professional Engineers – Jefferson Chapter.

As an engineering graduate with a BaSc in 1989 from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo Canada he was voted valedictorian of his civil engineering class. In addition to his engineering degree, he obtained a MABS for Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992 and received his MBA from the University of Denver specializing in Real Estate in 2000. Norman sits on the Board of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, is Chair of the Littleton Business Coalition, is on the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Denver’s Engineering school and coaches his son’s football team in his spare time.
