This project is a LEED Gold Certified, 1M+ sq. ft., 30-story office tower and 10-story, 1,000 car parking deck. The project is a new core and shell office building on the Alliance campus in Buckhead. The main lobby consists of a 41’ high structural glazed entrance. The walls of the main lobby are “textured” wood panels, and the flooring is epoxy terrazzo. There are a total of 14 elevators on the project. In addition, a new plaza level was constructed that ties into the existing Two Alliance plaza.
A notable characteristic of this 502,358 sq. ft. building is the array of faceted windows that cascade down the facades. This landmark project in the heart of Buckhead is the first in the southeast to feature faceted panel curtain wall units.
The team achieved a notable success in having a mere fi ve days between the temporary Certificate of Occupancy and the Certifi cate of Occupancy, which normally averages a 30-day time period. The team worked closely with city inspectors and were able to schedule inspections at odd hours, including as early as 4:00 a.m. to stay on schedule with the owner. Extensive preplanning was essential to achieving this goal. The team pre-tested and ran all systems prior to the inspections to address and correct any issues that arose.
